The Coachman Pub, Hartford
We were very honoured to be asked to investigate this lovely pub in Hartford. Is is very old and has a huge amount of history. The manager allowed us to go in and investigate, she told us of a negative atmosphere and strange goings on. We were also filmed for this investigation. When we first got there Lisa picked up on a man sitting downstairs in the pub area, he was one of many regular customers who obviously enjoyed being at the pub, she felt he had a numb side but was quite happy. We first ventured upstairs into a room where we were told there had been a lot of broken sleep, and the man had even been woken with something falling on his chest and crawling across the floor. We did glass divination in this room. Jennifer picked up on the name William, and after later research it was discovered William the Conquerer had caused alot of trouble in the area and was very controlling. We established that there was a kinder male spirit that was in the pub encouraging the manager to do well, but he also told us of another male spirit who was a trouble causer. Dean picked up on spirits coming to the pub for trading reasons and strong class divides during this time many years ago. The energy did not flow very well in the area above the pub.

We then moved downstairs into the cellar, people had reported seeing strange things down here. We felt uneasy and dizzy down there, but no spirits came forward at this time. We then moved into the old part of the pub. We decided to do a seance. We could feel cold all around us as we called out for spirit. As we all held hands, we saw shadows of spirit hands being put on the table between us, there were many of them. We then called out for the negative male spirit to come forward, as we did this we heard footsteps coming down the stairs from the floor above where we started the investigation, then progressive knocks getting closer towards us. The most surprising noise was two glasses knocking together from behind the bar. No one was anywhere else in the pub, we were all around the table.

After the seance it was nearly 3am so we decided to finish. We have already accepted the invitation to go back and continue the investigation, so watch this space....
